PHILOSOPHY DIALOGUE PROJECT
* SInce there's no philosophy subject, therefore, I posted into english\
QUESTIONS Choose one of the following questions for your project.
1. Kant argues for the need to develop a pure moral philosophy, one determined by rationality rather than impulse. Hume argues that it is from our sentiments that our moral judgments are made—that we are motivated by our feelings. Compare the two arguments: what is the strength of each? What is the weakness of each? What challenges do each present for the other’s arguments?
2. Descartes uses skepticism to strip away all of his unfounded beliefs in order to retain only that which cannot be doubted. Describe the two possible scenarios he presents that convince him that his beliefs are safe from doubt and what sorts of beliefs each thought experiment helps to undermine. Then, what idea does he ultimately argue cannot be doubted? How does this use of radical doubt contribute to Descartes’ larger goal, to develop a set of beliefs that are trustworthy?
