McLaughlin and McLaughlin (2024) suggest, “before its policy recommendations are final, the analysis team must assess how health outcomes align with the values of their society, especially where there are competing trade-offs. Major health policy changes interact with other social change efforts and with ongoing trends in society. It can be misleading to forecast the impact on society and issue-by-issue basis as if they were independent of each other” (p.161).
