Please feel free to choose any topic as long as it is related to HRM. For example, students may write an essay to critique the current HR practices of a hospitality business, their personal experience with the HR Department at work, or an event related to HRM; they may also showcase what they have learned in this class by analyzing an incident that takes place in a hotel, a restaurant, or a hospitality business. The discussion must be “rich” but at the same time very concise, ranging from 600 words to 800 words (definitely no more than 1000 words). Please also attach a self-description (approximately 100 words) to the end. For this assignment, up to two best essays may be selected from the class. These two best essays will be awarded 10 bonus points and will be featured in Dr. Kwok’s website (http://www.linchikwok.net) unless the student has a good reason for not being highlighted. The authors of the winning essays are highly encouraged (but not required) to provide a professional picture of himself/herself for publication. Your grades on the essay assignment may exceed 100 with the bonus points.
