Academic Integrity Essay

            In my research I found that Academic Integrity is an essential aspect of life because it puts an individual's character on display and shows who a person really is. When doing school work I will show integrity by always citing information and not fabricating information. In my personal life integrity is very important for my business. I am current an IBO with Goodlifeusa (Travel Business) and I give out discount cards to potential clients, as I want my customer to feel comfortable knowing that I am offering them a good discount on hotels, car rentals and cruises. My business is based on the customer trusting me with the knowledge of hotels, car rentals and cruises rates.

Three examples of infractions that violate the Student Code of Academic Integrity are as follows:

1.     Plagiarism which is when the writer attempts to pass someone else's thoughts or ideas off as their own, intentional or unintentional.

2.     Fabrication is when the writer makes up false information. This includes but is not limited to sources, citations, or documents.

3.     Collusion is when a student helps any other student commit an act that goes against the Student Code of Academic Integrity

           Academic Integrity to me means being honest and working hard. It means that there's a difference between honest and dishonest. Honest is that someone who always tells the truth and deals with being fair at least 90 percent of the time, and chose not to lie or cheat. Dishonest is when the person who chose to lie, cheat, unfairness, or untruthful.  There are many resources available to help students avoid plagiarism.
