Please provide your response to the following discussion prompt in approximately 200 to 250 words.

Often, students have mixed feelings about writing introductions. In one way, you may be excited to use a bit of fun informality in the introduction to hook your readers into the paper’s ideas, but in another way, you may feel that you have so much information moving around in your mind that you have no idea how to begin getting it all on paper. The basic idea is to provide your readers with a little background information. Answering who, what, where, when, why, and how in relation to your topic is a great way to begin brainstorming ideas for your introduction paragraph. But remember, don’t get too detailed, so much so that the introduction reads more like a body paragraph. Please read the sample introduction below, which is not an ideal representation of a strong, opening paragraph:

In this essay, I will discuss the dangers of processed food. First, I plan to talk about ingesting processed foods. Then, I will go on to explain environmental effects. Lastly, I plan to discuss our future population after decades of processed foods. Therefore, you will read about health, environmental, and population impacts.

Boring and vague introduction? Yes, I’d say so. How can you rewrite the paragraph above to make it more effective and appealing?
