1.Tourism in the US
In many ways, the US is the largest tourist destination in the world. Why do you think that is? What does the US offer that other destinations can’t? Do you think the US will be able to keep its top spot in world tourism?
2. Travel Agency
Would you want to own and operate your own travel agency? What would that look like? What would you need to do to achieve this goal?
If you do not want to own and operate your own travel agency, focus on what you would want to do in the tourism industry.
3. Work Stress
Working in tourism can be very exciting but it can also be stressful. Give examples of how this industry could be a stressful industry to work in. What could you do to help reduce that stress or at least manage it. What would you do to help reduce your stress level if you worked in this industry?
4. Staying Current
What can you do to expand your knowledge of the industry? Are internships useful? Job shadowing? Interviewing people in the industry? Or other? How do you want to take your "book" knowledge to the next level? Are there other ways to stay current in this industry?
5. Historical Data
Why is knowledge of tourism’s long history important? How do companies (and what companies) track this information? Is this information important? If it is important, what does this information give companies?
6. Leaving Your Mark
Do you feel you must leave your name scratched or written at some place you’ve visited? If you don't "scratch" your name, what do you do to remember your trips? How could you use this information to help shape a destination location to potential tourists?
