A  theme over the last few weeks of the course has been the topic of cultural competency training. We have, for instance, reviewed types of training approaches, as well as an overview of effectiveness on trainee and patient outcomes. To date, the evidence concerning these trainings seems to point to limited success or impacts of training. Why is cultural competency training showing so little impact so far? What can be done to rectify this problem? Consider drawing on other course  content, peer-reviewed literature, and/or health professions organizational content to inform the conversation.
