Powerpoint

This week you research the history and continuing evolution of electronic health records

(EHRs). One way to learn something is to teach that concept to someone else. For this

Assignment, you will design and construct a Microsoft PowerPoint® presentation that will be

presented in a training session for new HIT students coming into your facility. The presentation

should discuss the history and evaluate the importance of EHR implementation; highlighting the

past, present, and future. Be sure to include information on federal initiatives and laws that have

helped in the progression toward health information exchange. Please include the following

topics in your presentation:

 Importance of EHR and health information exchange in health care

 EHR implementation highlighting past

 EHR implementation highlighting present

 EHR implementation highlighting future

 Information on federal initiatives and laws that have helped in the progression toward

health information exchange

Please dedicate a minimum of 5 slides to each topic (you will likely need more for several of the

topics). Your presentation must have at least 36 slides. Please use the notes section to clarify

anything that might be confusing and anything that needs elaboration such as definition.

Requirements:

 The Assignment will include a minimum of 36 Power Point slides.

 Follow APA guidelines.

 Include a title slide and reference slide. Length requirements do not include the title and

reference slides.

 This Assignment should follow the conventions of Standard American English featuring

correct grammar, punctuation, style, and mechanics.

 Include at least three references. The textbook counts as one reference. All sources

must be scholarly. Wikipedia is an example of a resource that is not acceptable. Use

APA style for all citations including course materials.

 Your information used should be well ordered, logical, and unified, as well as original

and insightful.
