Prepare an annotated bibliography (worth 10% of course grade) with 5 primary and/or secondary sources that you will use to write your final paper.  The final paper will be based on a topic of your choice that corresponds with the course work and the overall topic of African American Studies.  The annotated bibliography should only include scholarly resources such as journal articles, books and/or primary source documents.

The bibliography should include the following for each source:

1. Full citation in MLA style of bibliographic item
2. A brief summary of the source
3. The source’s strengths and weaknesses
4. Its conclusions
5. Why the source is relevant in your field of study
6. Its relationships to other studies in the field
7. Your personal conclusions about the source
