PROCEDURE . Navigate to, download, and install the free version of Google EarthTM Desktop. Do not use the Google EarthTM plug—in or Google EarthTM mobile application. This exercise is not designedfor those platforms. . Download the Fluvial Landformskmz file supplied by eScience Labs. . Open the Fluvial Landformskmz file by selecting the file from the folder where it was saved. Google EarthTM will launch once you double—click on the file. . The file will show up as a folder in the "Places" Sidebar (on the left of your screen) with the name eScience_Fluvial Landforms. Click on the little white arrow to the left of theeScience_Fluvia1 Landforms file to open the file and see the contents. . You should see locations labeled A—H, "Fan Elevation Profile," and "Zone of Erosion." Double— click on A, and the globe should navigate to its location. To visit each location, simply double—click, and you will fly there on the globe. Look around each area using the navigation arrows onthe top—right of the screen (and look at any posted photos in the area). If you get lost, double—click on the location in the side—bar, and you will be brought you back to the original spot. . Before you complete the exercise, make sure you have the correct units selected. Go to "Tools" in the menu bar, and select "Options" from the drop-down menu.
