A proposal argument is a problem-solution essay in which you analyze a problem, analyze solution(s), and justify the solution(s).

If you had all the financial, political, and popular support imaginable, how would you transform Charlotte?

Your final writing assignment will be a Proposal Argument in which, having identified a community problem in Charlotte, you will make suggestions on how to deal with this problem based on your research. This will be a synthesis of the different argumentative methods you've employed throughout the semester.

Statement of your proposed Solution(s) - why is there a need for this proposed Solution(s)?

Body:

Detailed demonstration of how your Solution(s) will solve the Problem - make the proposal sound feasible; to justify your Solution(s), provide enough reasons and evidence to support those reasons.

Examination of alternate or failed solutions

Objections -who might object to your Solution(s) and why - and your Rebuttal

Interviews, surveys, or original texts will be your primary source for those directly affected by your proposed Solution(s), those who support or challenge the policy you advocate
