An abstract is required. A Visit to the Indiana Museum The Indiana Museum is located at 650 W. Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana. It is one of the landmarks of the state of Indiana and it is strategically located at the heart of the White River State Park. As the main structure that contains majority of the historical artifacts, vast amounts of collections in art works, cultural and historical documents and manuscripts that needs to be preserved in their original state or at least minimize natural process of deterioration.

From visiting the site, one acknowledged that apart from the ongoing exhibits, the Indiana State Museum addresses environmental and conversation issues pertinent to ensuring that the artifacts and collections are maintained in safe and secure condition. In fact, it was disclosed that the Indiana State Museum is an active partner of the Natural Heritage of Indiana (NHI) Project which, as a partner is expected to abide by its role to “preserve, interpret and present material evidence of Indiana’s cultural and natural history in a context that encourages people to actively participate in discovering their world – as it was, as it is and as it can be” (Funders and Partners in the Natural Heritage of Indiana Project: Partner par. 5).

This confirms Indiana State Museum’s commitment to environmental preservation and conservation as paramount among its goals.
