Provide a 2 pages analysis while answering the following question: Political Behavior. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is required. Political Behavior Introduction Political socialization is the fundamental concept, which suggests the way individuals obtain facts, attitudes, beliefs and values. Subsequently, it can be affirmed as a learning process by which individuals learn about norms and behaviors in a society in order to run a political system effectively and transform those concepts to the next generation. In this study, the prime aim is to highlight agents of political socialization and also identify the most vital agent of political socialization.

Discussion

In accordance with Danziger (2013), in the early 21st century, the traditional concept related to political socialization has transformed a bit (Danziger, 2013). Several evidences have suggested that modern generation is may be seeing the arrival of a period of augmented involvement by young individuals, along with citizens more commonly, within a political society (Owen, 2008). According to the observation, it has been revealed that the agents of political socialization play a crucial role in a political system in order to change the traditional trend of political socialization. Over the years, it has been ascertained that family, school, teachers and communication media among others have been highly engaged with political socialization as an intermediary (Danziger, 2013).

Correspondingly, it has been identified that education systems such as high-schools and colleges have the gateway of democratic concept in modern civilization. Young adults have learned many of the values, skills and abilities through the education in this world. Apart from this, political knowledge and political engagement have been increased through the help of civic education. For example, academic study related to political science and real democratic approach in schools/colleges can be presented among the prime (Danziger, 2013).

Similarly, family culture has also influenced the approach of the youth in political socialization. According to the analysis, it has been observed that political conversations of youths’ parents have acted as a vital determinant to grow political socialization amid young individuals. Thus, family can be regarded as a “distinct socializing agent”. For an example, discussion related to political issues and vote can drive political thoughts. Consequently, mass media including newspaper, magazine, the internet and films also can be named as agents of political socialization. Over the years, along with the changing political scenario, the approaches of mass media have been transformed in a parallel manner (Danziger, 2013). For instance, individuals read and watch political debates which can influence their perception.

Simultaneously, values and attitudes is one of the hardest variables of political socialization, which can be only influenced by the personal characteristics of an individual. Accordingly, it has been observed that personal values or traits can influence the decision of an individual in both ways i.e. positive or negative. Therefore, it can be asserted that civic engagement is one of the dependable variables for political socialization (Danziger, 2013).

Moreover, it can be evidently affirmed that state, religion, political events and other social demographic factors also can influence political socialization. In this regard, education system is the most important agent of political socialization.

Conclusion

From the foregoing discussion, it can be apparently asserted that through education and learning process, individuals can transform the performance or activity of human kinds in a society. On the other hand, the effect of political science and political behaviour is indivisible from education. Thus, it is the most important agent of political socialization.
