Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) is a technology used to identify, track and manage assets, inventory, equipment, people, etc. RFID allows real-time tracking while a shipment is in transit and visibility on all the details of a given delivery without physically checking it. Additionally, RFID offers advantages over manual systems or use of barcodes enhancing inventory control. When integrated with security scanners it also provides security services for the logistics in inventory during storage or movement.

It facilitates the non-requirement of storing data physically on server and hard drives, saving on cost, resources and manpower. It gives companies competitive advantage by availing high-capacity networks, low-cost computers and storage devices as well as the widespread adoption of automation and service-oriented platform. In addition, companies save on operating expenses due to a "pay-as-you-go" system, avoiding unexpected cost if administrators are not familiarized with cloud-pricing models.
Internet-of-Things:
With electronics and internet connectivity, every day physical devices becomes an extension of the interne called the Internet-of-Things (IoT) allowing devices to interact and communicate over the internet and can be monitored and controlled remotely. A versatile technology that are now used in various industries and various tasks to include location management, inventory management where optimization of goods can be achieved and predictive analytics through improving decision making
All mentioned technologies can definitely provide an advantage to any organization. Currently, inventories of parts, materials, tools and subsistence food items in my division is counted manually.
