This assignment is meant to give students an understanding of how to build a marketing plan. This week students will create the first half of the marketing plan, which addresses the situation analysis, segmentation, and positioning.

Assignment Steps

Create the first half of a marketing plan for a new product or service that is not currently on the market in 1,400 words. 

Include the following:

• An executive summary
• A description of the product or service
• The situation analysis including an environmental scan and competitive analysis
• A segmentation of the market and selection of a target audience
• A positioning statement for the selected target audience
