A data model is a representation, usually graphical, of real-word data structures. Some well-known data models are hierarchical, network relational, entity relationship, object-oriented, object/relational and XML.

Part I:

Select and construct three data different models for a simple transcript database that contained the transcription information about graduate school teaching assistants (TA’s). The database is used to record all the earned degrees of the TA’s that incorporate the business rules below. Show each graphical model.

  1. TA’s earned one or more undergraduate and graduate degrees from one or more universities.
  2. Universities offer one or more undergraduate and graduate degrees.
