QUESTION

QUESTION: How to write an effect research question involving gender and GRE scores; corresponding null and alternative hypotheses.

What I am not understanding is how a research question can be formulated to involve gender and GRE specfically related to an effect. From there, I can figure out the alternative hypothesis and what not, but I was hoping for something like an example. I do not understand how to identify a non-signifcant and significant effect based on the hypotheses from an effect research question. That's what is throwing me off. The scenario is obviously important to read to get a gist of the question being asked.

I have added the NOTE only to allow a tutor to realize that this is a wholly fictitious study and to not ask for data. Thank you.
