1. What is the purpose of this speech?  In other words, what is it that you want your audience to learn from your speech? 
2. Why do you think it’s important for the audience to be informed about your topic?  Why is it relevant to them?  How does it affect them?
3. In what ways will you convince your audience that your topic is important for them to listen to (e.g., hypothetical example, statistics, testimony, etc.)? Note: You may want to use one of these methods as your attention-getting device in the introduction of your speech.
