Select a 1-8 grade level and one Next Generation Science Standard (NGSS). Using the “Class Profile” and “5E Lesson Plan Template,” create a lesson plan utilizing the 5E Model of Instruction. Ensure all instruction, activities, and assessments are aligned to the chosen NGSS, and all objectives are measurable.

Along with the lesson plan, submit a 250-500 word rationale that explains how you have engaged all students in the 5Es.

APA format, double space, times new romans, 12pt., in-text citations and scholarly references, and turn it in less than 20%.

Rubric:

1. All 5E (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate) lesson plan components are addressed. The instruction and activities clearly promote critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as create an atmosphere of learning through inquiry. The descriptions for each component are substantive.

2. Lesson plan includes a specific science or health standard and an aligned and measurable learning target. All components of the lesson plan are aligned to the learning target.

3. Rationale clearly explains student engagement in all of the 5Es. It includes several distinctive supporting details and/or examples to support lesson plan components.
