Reading and Responding to Arguments from Academic Sources

The following TED Talk and articles discuss issues in academic studies.

For EACH RESOURCE, write at least 3 sentences that summarize the main argument that is made in the article. Focus on what the piece is saying about "proof" in science. We tend to think that if something is scientific, it's trustworthy. These sources say that science is also fallible and sometimes unethical--how does each article make the case?

Write an additional 2 to 3 sentences that turn some of the main points of the article into advice. What are 2-3 takeaways from the source that can help you and others evaluate academic and scientific evidence? You can use a list format for these.

For EACH source below, you should end up with a total of 5 to 7 sentences.

1)The MMR Vaccine and Autism (Links to an external site.)

2)Battling Bad Science by Ben Goldacre (Links to an external site.)
