1) One of the most iconic campaign ads in recent hsitory was the Ronald Reagan 1984 Reelection ad "Morning in America." Review this ad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=EU-IBF8nwSY  Reflect on why this ad has been considered so noteworthy. What criteria did you use to assess the ad and do you consider it effective? Then compare it to the 2010 "Mourning in America" campaign ad by a conservative group - note that this was not a presidential year, but Obama features prominently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YXqf_6ug54  Do you consider this ad to be effective; why or why not?

2) Go to the Living Room Candidate: Presidential Commercials 1952-2020: http://www.livingroomcandidate.org/  This online museum houses all the prominent preisdential campaign ads from this period. Take a look at a few and watch how they have evolved over time. Reflect on at least two campaign ads, one that you thought was effective and one that you thought was not effective. What criteria did you use to determine whether the ad was effective or not?

3) Lastly, take a look at some of these non-presidential campaign ads. Discuss why you believe these ads are effective, even if the candidate did not win - consider at least 2 in your response. You may also choose your own favorite non-presidential campaign ad, but please include the link.
