"Act your age"

1.   Observe people in a public place. Examine their behaviors using the criteria of whether or not the behaviors are age-appropriate. Post examples of appropriate and inappropriate behaviors, with an explanation as to why the behavior is appropriate or inappropriate

2. I was shopping at the mall, I saw this lady she looks to be 60 or 70 years old, she had on a mini skirt with a boot that comes to her thighs. She was cussing and flirting with young men that look like they could be in their 20s. She looks to be old enough to be their grandmother. This is inappropriate for a lady her age to be dressing and flirting with young men old enough to be her grandsons.

I saw a little girl in the ice cream store, she was so cute she was probably was around 3 or 4 years of age. She was running around the store with another little girl around her age. This was appropriate for her age. Kids her age are very active, they love to stay busy.

3.  Being a Cardiovascular Technologist and a Saint Leo student limits the number of places I can observe people. I spend most of my time at the hospital(work), or at Starbuck’s(studying). Recently I observed an interaction between a couple of people at Starbuck’s that I felt showed a severe lack of maturity on a part and an abundance of it on the other part. It involved a gentleman of about 60 plus years and a lady barista of about 25 years old. The barista was explaining to the gentleman that it is a health code violation for customers to contact anything behind the counter. The gentleman was being very petulant, and difficult while the young lady showed a remarkable amount of patience, restraint, and maturity. I felt that the man was not behaving in the way that a man of advanced years should behave. The young lady actually showed the type of demeanor I feel is expected from older people.
