Research, Research, Research! There is nothing more important than research. It is important to understand a company's audience. The audience is key. Who is the company trying to reach? What is the demographic? What is the age, gender, age, etc. According to Forbes, Grand Rapids, Michigan, is #25 on the list of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the USA. The median age has gone from 33 to 30 in the past few years and the reason why Grand Rapids, MI is growing so rapidly is due to births. More and more people are having babies here at Grand Rapids. 

Since there are more and more families here in Grand Rapids, MI, a lot of what we do here at Grand Rapids Baptist Church is catered towards families and children/babies. Right now, we are spending tens of thousands of dollars towards a nursery renovation, why? Because there are a lot of babies out there! About a third of Grand Rapids Baptist Church is under the age of 18. In addition, we have a lot of fun activities for children, such as trunk or treat. Trunk or treat is where we have dozens of cars in a parking lot which are decorated and filled with candy during Halloween. It is a safe environment where kids can get candy, dress up, etc. Last year for our trunk or treat, we had at least 300 people from our community come out and attend. During the summers, we have a week-long event called Neighborhood Bible Time. Neighborhood Bible Time is a time of fun games, activities, and preaching of God's Word. We usually have a couple hundred kids and teenagers attend. By having a lot of events. Recently, we hosted a Family Life Conference. It is a conference where families and parents were challenged and encouraged. We are telling our community that family and children matters. Why? Because that is who our audience is. That is our demographic.
