Experimental Details: Week 113.3 ml of (+)-1-phenylethylamine15.63 G of (+)-tartaric acid225 mL methanol500 mL ErlenmeyerStep 1. Add 15.63 G of (+)-tartaric acidStep 2. Add 225 mL methanol to 500 mL Erlenmeyer flask.Step 3. Heat on hot plate to nearly boiling.Step 4. Remove from heat.Step 5. Slowly add 13.3 mL of (+)-1-phenylethylamine to hot solution.Step 6. Allow to cool to room temperature, minimizing movement of flask.Step 7.
