The evolution of online learning has taken over by popular demand.  The need is much greater in the higher education, third-level or tertiary education because of the convenience. We don’t see so much of an increased need for online learning in grades K-12th but it doesn’t necessarily mean that the option is not available because it is. Students do have the option for virtual school but again there is not a great need. De (2018) states that individuals do become very exhausted and tired after working a long day but with the convenience of online learning its convenient and flexible.

Online learning provides so many different opportunities for individuals, career wise at the higher education level. Online learning for grades K-12th provides the same convenience and flexibility as well. Really, with online learning it’s something that you can do from the comfort of your own home or anywhere where there is internet access. However, there is a down side to online learning, sometimes trying to get in touch with the instructor can be quite difficult. The communication piece can be impersonal.

Traditional on ground learning is something that is a popular demand with grades K-12th. Students can learn better as well as interact with a teacher. It’s best for students that young to get the hands-on experiences within the classroom setting. Regular attendance in classes helps them interact with other individuals of their own age, be better disciplined, follow a regular schedule, and improve their physical fitness and mental alertness (De, 2018).  Now, when we talk about higher education, the rates for students attending a campus has declined tremendously. However, with higher education they have now introduced blended which seems to be a big hit at that level. Blended courses consist of in the classroom and online combine for that class. As far as it goes for higher education, traditional on ground learning is not a big hit.

The bottom line is that technology will not completely eliminate the opportunity for face-to-face instructions; however, it provides an important resource to facilitate learning that should be integrated throughout the curriculum because it is already a major component of students personal lives (Cordeiro & Cunningham, 2013).
