There are many strategies that we could incorporate to help with parent teacher partnership in literacy. The first is to make sure from the first day of school is to set expectations, and let the parents constantly know how important it is for the students to get their work done, second is communicate with the parents on a daily basis, and remind them of expectations, third is to list their children’s accomplishments, or share info with them on their students if they need help or struggle in certain areas, send home family reading activities like games of something fun, assign students to read in front of parents, and have them sign off on their daily notebook or reading notebook, high light important reading, translate information for parents, and share stories about the students culture or background. These are just a few strategies that would be incorporated in to my classroom.
