What movies, television shows or novels have read or viewed that concern anthropologists? How are they portrayed? What general field and/or subfield of anthropology do they practice? How do popular characterizations match or conflict with what you have learned about anthropology in this chapter?  Do you feel they are accurately  portrayed?  Why? or Why not?

OR

Cultural Anthropologists focus on the way beliefs, practices, and symbols bind groups of people together and shape their worldview and lifeways.  Thinking about your own culture, what is an example of a belief, practice, or symbol that would be interesting to study anthropologically?  What do you think could be learned by studying the example you have selected? Please be detailed.
