• This paper will be 5 pages total:  
  • (a) You are the IT Manager for a major bank.  The bank includes services such as checking accounts, savings accounts, and issues loans.  These services are provided at physical bank locations, through the bank's web site, and using the bank's mobile application.  As the IT Manager, what type of database backup plan would you choose for the bank?  Be sure to include details such as the methodology and frequency of backups.  Make sure you justify the reasoning for the database backup plan chosen over other database backup plans. – 2 pages
  • (b) Describe the disaster plan you would set up for the bank.  Make sure you justify the disaster plan chosen and include key metrics such as allowed down time and the amount of time to get services up and running.  How does the chosen disaster plan reduce the interruption in banking services in the case of an emergency? - 2 pages
  • (c) The bank's corporate office has just been hit by a devastating hurricane.  The main power has just been cut off from the building and will likely not be back up for several days.  Key personal are located at the corporate office, such as the bank's CEO, CIO, CFO, etc.  In addition, the bank's main servers used for data storage and on line services are also located at the corporate office.  As the IT Manager, what is your plan of action to get the bank back into working order while the services are being restored to the corporate office? - 1 page

 The paper must following the formatting guidelines in The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (2010), (6th ed., 7th printing), and contain a title page, five scholarly references, five pages of content, and a reference page. In addition, the paper will be submitted through the SafeAssign originality-checking tool.

Guideline and outline example-

You should first go through the directions of the paper in detail to understand what exactly the assignment is asking for.  Then, create an outline of the sections you want to include and bulletpoints of the general information the section should have.  So for your third research paper, below is an example of an outline.  Please note that I am not saying this is how your paper has to be constructed.  In addition, you may need to include additional information to meet the assignment's directions.  But, you can use this as an example of what an outline may look like.

Bank Data Backup and Disaster Recovery:

1. Introduction (BRIEFLY describe what it is you are going to talk about)
2. Bank Data Backup
   1. Types of backup
   2. Backup methodology selected for the bank and why
   3. Frequency of backup
   4. etc.
3. Disaster plan
   1. Types of disaster plans
   2. Disaster plan chosen for bank and why
   3. etc.
4. Hurricane Hits Bank
   1. Plan of action to get the bank back up and running
   2. etc.
5. Conclusion (BRIEFLY summarize your paper.  Do not include any new information here.  Only information about what you already talked about above).

As I mention above, this is an example.  Your outline may be a bit different and more detailed.  But in general, this is the type of thing you may want to create.  It should help you write a paper that meets the requirements and is structured.  It also keeps you on point when you do your research.

Also, please keep in mind the page limitations in the directions.  If you see your sections are becoming too big, take out any information that is not as important.  Or remove any detail that is unnecessary to get your point across.  This is a skill that I hope you will learn from this course.
