Purpose of the Assignment:
This assignment has a three-fold purpose:
1. To keep you update of the current development of information technologies for management.
2. To build up your skills in searching, summarizing and presenting information in an effective manner.
3. To develop a basic website where you can summarize the results of your assignment report.
Requirements of the Assignment:
Identify two related articles published RECENTLY that describe/discuss the same or similar type of information technology. One article should be ONLY published on the Internet, and the other article should be PRIMARY published off the Internet (but, it may also be available on the Internet).
Write a short report on the information technology discussed in the articles, which accounts 10% of your final grade.
The report should be word-processed, no less than two and no more than three double-spaced pages (with 1” margins on all sides), excluding title page, figures, tables, illustrations, and references. It should include the following parts:
§ Your name and course information.
§ Title of your report.
§ Abstract of your report.
§ Discussion on the main points/issues in the two articles.
§ Your reasons of choosing the two articles, and your comments on them.
§ References (correct citations for both articles, and other article cited in the report).
Summarize your report results by developing a basic website that includes the main points of your report. A tutorial will be provided in class for developing a website.
Note:
· The articles should be technical articles written in layman language with few or no technical formulas and technical jargons.
· The articles should be as recent as possible.
Grading Criteria:
Grades will be based on*:
ü The relevance and nature of the articles to the course (20%).
ü The organization/structure of your report (the report should include all parts outlined in Requirements above) and website (30%).
ü The content/ quality/clarity of your report and website (50%).
