Answer: The most significant evolutionary event that happened was during the Cold War environment was the tearing down of the Berlin wall. This event symbolized the end of the Cold War and helped reduce tensions between the United States and Russia over the possibility of a nuclear war. After the Berlin wall came down many countries in the Soviet Union broke way and formed their own independence which weakened Russia as far as troop strength. NATO has invited many former Soviet Union members to join NATO in an effort to strengthen the NATO presence in Eastern Europe.
