 Summary: You are required to write one critical essay in this course: approximately 7-10 pages.The primary goal of this essay is to look closely at a specific portion of the text to make some claim about the text as a whole, and then to use outside sources to illuminate your stance, even further. For my critical essay, I plan to explore how Zora Neale Hurston’s “How It Feels to Be Colored Me” expresses pride in Black identity through individuality, self-confidence, and cultural awareness.
