Michael E Miller writes the article, for the Washington Post and Star Ledger. The author wants to inform the readers that way immigration policy is enforced and that Federal Authorities are separating these families that are crossing the border into the United States. The author uses theexploring the human impact of these polices.  For

ion from other political resources, which was great to know that he did lot of research before writing the article. He was very focused on his arguments in the article, which made it very easy to understand. He expressed how we are dealing with the immigration crisis. I also read a couple of immigration articles online and just about everyone else interprets the same problem as in the article that Michael E Miller wrote.By researching those methods and watching the news as to what is going on today with the crisis of immigration makes this article a credible source. I did read the article a couple of times before analyzing it and tried to evaluate the authors point of view in which with the details that he provided about the 11 year old boy from Honduras and his mother that was trying her best to provide her son with a better life seeking asylum for her and her child. He also goes into detail in which the authorities denied her request and deported her back to her country of Honduras. The immigration authorities took the child and put him on a plane to Illinois to live with his relatives whom he did not know, the child was very traumatized by the separation from his mother. It is a sad story when you analyze it. It is also heartbreaking to see what our government is doing, separating these poor families especially around the holidays.I know that we have to secure our border and protect the American people but we also need to know how to evaluate these human beings as they are going through a lot of political and social

, by taking these steps the United States immigration can make decisions on how to proceed with the situations that these people are going through. Unfortunately it is very difficult for the United States to provide assistance to these individuals as they are entering the country illegally.           Right now with the present issues that immigration is having with the immigrants is going to be very difficult for the ones that are seeking asylum and trying to keep their families together.

ple when the author explains "In more than 200 cases, according to the American Civil Liberties Union, deported parents have made the painful decision to leave their separated son or daughters behind in hope that they will have a better life in America.""For these families, Trumps short lived separation policy threatens to become permanent".I think that the author wants to show us how these families are suffering and the way that the policies are negatively affecting them. It seems that the author is asking that the reader should at least help with demanding law makers to pursue immigration reform. What this story is fundamentally about the injustice and hardship experienced by people awaiting an asylum hearing as a result of the refusal of the current administration to appoint adequate numbers of immigration judges. This article offers a credible argument. The author shows in real-life terms the way children and families suffer as a result of the "Zero Tolerance" policies. The argument in the article is a call to action for the need of immigration policy reform.MethodsIn analyzing the article I used different methods to analyze the author's argument. I believe that the writer was of a credible source. The author did have enough knowledge of the subject when writing his opinion on the current matter. Since it was an article in the star ledger I was aware that the writer was credible. Therefore, I was willing to consider his ideas. I also looked for a lot evidence behind the authors writing. He did in fact did provide reasons as to why immigration is a problem; all reasons were based on his research. The facts that he has included are explained in the article. In general he also included in

ple of one family affected by the "Zero Tolerance" policies to show the human cost of these practices. The main idea of the article is about the injustice of the "Zero Tolerance" policy and emotion injury inflicted on families as immigrant children being separated from their parents during the holidays. The primary argument in the article relies on emotional appeal by exploring in detail the realities of a struggling single mother who is only asking for asylum from Honduras and her 11-year-old son separated from her during the holidays. She has been deported back to her home country, while her son is sent by authorities to live with a distant relative in Illinois. Through detailing the struggle of the mother and son, the author focuses the issue of Immigration Policy presented in the article in very human and relatable terms for the reader.           I believe that the author is trying to inform the readers of the difficult choice immigrants must face while seeking asylum in the United States under the "Zero Tolerance" policy. Within the article there are a number of view
