The Erie Canal project analysis / Case Study

Project that i selected is "The Erie Canal Project-" this is a project management class. 

Individual Project: Each student must choose for analysis a project of importance (see previous section) that either succeeded or failed—in the technical terms of the project management profession. The project must be researched historically, the dynamics explicated, and any recommendations developed from the analysis given.  the technical issues involved in project management. The project must address the critical factors of time, cost, and specification performance on the project, as well as the organizational issues arising from the project, if any.

Paper must be 8-10pages, with 8 outside references. things to consider are: What were the major problems with the project? Who were the Project managers? how long did it take? how much did it cost? and the above mentioned topics.
