Neither my current rotation nor that of my friend has properly documented policies or procedure for dealing with latex injuries. For needle stick injuries, my current rotation mainly focuses on continuous staff training to prevent. In my colleague’s place, the nurses take part in selection of safety devices that are easy to use in addition to staff training. The main policy for dealing with violence in my place and that of my friend is reporting. Based on these, there is a minimum level of organizational level efforts towards dealing with these problems.
