The idea of using entertainment to teach people about the world is certainly not new. Over 15 years ago, Anthony Bourdain joined the Travel Channel combining food, culture, and travel in a TV series known as No Reservations. The show featured a host that taught viewers about cultural geography. Since the show was successful, Bourdain eventually joined CNN for a new weekend series known as Parts Unknown which can be seen here:

For this assignment, you too will create a "Parts Unknown" project. Your project should include include images which should highlight the physical location (cityscape, countryside) as well as a human element of photos capturing local people, food, religion, etc. You are expected to write up to 500-1,000 words regarding the location and practices of your chosen place. If you wish to submit a PowerPoint presentation in lieu of writing, you should submit a minimum of 15 slides. It would be helpful to have 1-2 slides related to each point, such as food, customs, people, etc. If you wish to submit a combination of text and PowerPoint, the minimum requirement is 300 words and 10 slides.
