The makers of Neuro-Aid soft drink claim their drink improves concentration and memory. Does it really? To find out, 30 participants drank Neuro-Aid one day and a sugar-water drink on another (counterbalanced order). Thirty (30) minutes after each drink consumption, participants completed a Stanford-Binet IQ test (normed to have a mean of 100, SD of 15). Note that this is FAKE DATA.
By how much could Neuro-Aid improve IQ? Copy the data from the attached Microsoft Excel file into ESCI and answer our research question by creating (1) an appropriate data picture, (2) estimating the effect size and its CI, and (3) the standardized effect size (i.e., Cohen’s d) with its CI.
Hint: It’s possible for effect sizes to be negative.
