The purpose of the Final Essay is for the you to compose an essay that demonstrates your  

ability to synthesize information from various sources and to explore conflict resolution.

Your challenge for your final research paper in this course is to present conflicting issues in our  

criminal justice system and ways how you can minimize/mitigate these issues. This conflict can  

be attributed to personnel, policies, procedures, training, etc. The essay must be written in a  

creative and meaningful (thoughtful) way that is demonstrative of critical thinking.

Task

Write a five-to-seven-page paper addressing conflict resolution in criminal justice. Provide a  

minimum of four (4) references using and used the current APA 6th edition citations form and  

style in noting your sources. Sources which may come from the text book, journal articles,  

scholarly writings, other text books, and websites will be used in this essay. In text citations in  

your final paper is a must. Please don’t use Wikipedia sources with your essay. Your essay draft  

is due on the fourth (4th) week of the class. Your essay draft must be a minimum of 500 words.  

Failure to submit the draft will result in a 20% penalty from the final paper grade.
