The Sales Package is described at length in both lectures and documents, but here are the basic details. You must invent a fictitious company in Columbus, GA. This company makes, sells, or repairs the topic listed in this email. You audience can only be individuals in the Columbus area: a person living in a home or apartment. This means that your audience cannot be companies or organizations. Your audience cannot be officers of a corporation or organization (for example, an owner, a manager, etc.). Finally, your invented company must have real competition in Columbus. Even if you are not from or live in Columbus, there should be no problem in getting research: I took all topics from the Columbus Yellow Pages and information about businesses and the population characteristics of Columbus are both readily available online.
Two items appear below. The word is the product or service your invented company makes, sells, or repairs. The letter is the scenario you must design your sales letter within. Please note: you can only develop your project with the topic listed below. Contact me if you are unsure about your topic.
If you received the letter "A," the company you invent must be new to the Columbus area; however, it faces strong competition from established companies.
If you received the letter "B," the company you invent must be established in the Columbus area; however, it faces strong competition from new companies in the area.
Both scenarios demand you consider your company's image.
Here is your topic and scenario.

Here is some advice concerning the Sales Project. Listen to the lectures and take a look and the documents that appear in the section. Particularly important is the document titled "The Planning Memo." This gives you an outline of what should be in the Planning Memo, which has two parts: a description of the rhetorical situation and a description of what is in the letter. Please remember that the Planning Memo and the Sales Letter are two separate documents.
