2.     The United Way raises money for community charity activities. Recently in one community, the fund-raising committee was concerned that a greater proportion of employees in government contributed than those in private businesses. A random sample of people who had been contacted about contributing last year was selected. Of those contacted, 70 worked for a private business and 50 worked for a government agency. Of the 70 private-sector employees, 22 had contributed some amount to United Way and 19 of the government employees in the sample had contributed.
