The US Census Bureau released a recent report that household income increased by 5.2 percent between 2014-2015 and the poverty rate decreased by 1.2 percentage points. There remain geographic distribution differences as well as health insurance coverage increases. The poverty decreased in the south, west and midwest with no significant change in the northeast. The Current Population Survey has the percentage of people with health insurance coverage for all or part of 2015 as 90.9 percent, higher than the rate in 2014 (89.6 percent).
