There is no doubt the United States has progressed in regards to crime victimization. Like all of us, there is always room for improving the process that victims go through. One right that victims might be acquired in the future is having an equal criminal justice system. I just feel like it's unfair for the victim if an offender that was found guilty of rape only getting 6 months in jail and a slap on the wrist. Just like the cases like Brock Turner, whose punishment didn't even fit the crime of rape. He should be spending at least 10 years for his inhumane actions. That female victim deserves better than what the judge put on Brock Turner. "You took away my worth, my privacy, my energy, my time, my intimacy, my confidence, my own voice," the female victim said.(CNN, 2016) The quote alone from that female victims needs better rights to protect her from what has happened to her and what she is experiencing till this day. I know one day the people of the United States will get right for victims right.
