In a post of at least 300 words, identify the topic you wish to research.  This should be a topic of contemporary relevance (education, economic inequality, social values as reflected in media, the impact of technology, etc.) that can to some degree be informed by some of the readings we have discussed in class. As you consider your topic, you should conduct some initial research to find ideas helpful to you in approaching your subject and determining the argument that you think you would like to make.

Finally, you should offer two or three thesis statements that are relevant to the topic you are addressing.  You should make these statements as strong as possible. Commit to a point of view! Remember that you can revise this as you better inform yourself through continuing research, but begin with a statement strong enough to give you direction.
