These specific objectives play a very large part in the success in management. In my personal experiences it is communication that is the most common subject associated with managerial failures or successes. Many of us know effective communication techniques are crucial regarding the perception’s subordinates have of their supervisors. Understanding, and mentally elaborating on every other aspect of the objectives collectively can greatly affect the views of others in a positive outcome on overcoming possible problems, and the business environment itself.
I believed understanding each of the objectives is not just helpful towards success, but also understanding their affects individually, and how they play a part in maximizing the use of one another collectively is important as well. Technology provides opportunities for businesses which can improve communication, and help with quantitative, and qualitative research among other objectives that can help succeed in management. Understanding all the objectives, and how they play their roles both individually, and collectively together can maximize a manager’s success. Many of the objectives stem from proper researching and recognizing to enable effective decision making which helps to succeed in management. With better more evolving technology we can expect an incline in easier, and more expedient positive decision making, however understanding and refining these objectives without having the use of technology can help expedite proper decision making without relying so much on technology.
There are many downfalls a manager could risk by not mastering the objectives. Some of which involve dollar losses, loss of time and productivity, negative impact on customers as well as employees, and even physical risks where each can play a “domino effect” on the other. Strategy is the result of the organizations leadership’s decision making about issues such as: where to compete, how to win against the competition, and how to maximize long term value. Strategy is different from an organizations vision and mission. It is different from the vision of what it wants to become, and different from the mission statement about the purpose or scope of its operation. It is different from its goals and objectives for the specific results being sought (Editorial Board, 2015).
The strategic planning model is a four-step process. These steps are assessment, strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation of results. Each of these steps have an order in the model, however once the evaluation of results is completed the process can start back to a previous step that warrants the step in the planning process but does not necessarily have to go back to step one. Strategic analysis addresses questions while examining the internal and external environments of an organization (Editorial Board, 2015). The implementation of the strategic planning model, and strategic analysis are an organized assessment of generating a plan to be implemented which can help the micro and macro environment. Strategic planning, and analysis process are formalized processes to help develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate strategies (Editorial Board, 2015). Without a good system for planning and analyzing a problem or goal may not be easily overcome or accomplished.
