This discussion helps you meet CO 1, 2, 4 and MO 1-5.  As one of the most significant developments in geology, Plate Tectonics theory explains the dynamics of our planet. Be sure to address the following module objectives in your discussion:

• MO 2: Explain the major differences between Earth’s lithosphere and asthenosphere, including the importance of each in the plate tectonics theory.
• MO 3: Compare and contrast the three types of convergent plate boundaries, including a location where each type can be found.

• MO 5: Describe relative movement directions and rates of major plates.
