Project Topic
A QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AIMED AT IMPACTING EARLY IDENTIFICATION OF ANXIETY THROUGH STANDARDIZED SCREENING TOOLS IN PSYCHIATRIC SETTINGS .
Students are expected to complete a needs assessment and determine if the project is doable(feasible) at their project site. A needs assessment should demonstrate support for the proposed improvement and should benefit a healthcare delivery system or population. This can be a quality improvement or policy change.This should consist of a problem that is specific to the project site. Publicly available data for the organization should be used if obtainable.

- Early Identification of Anxiety through assessment/screening tools—such as the GAD-7, Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), and Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A)
- Improve follow up care through
- Proactive scheduling: Have a dedicated care coordinator or staff member proactively call and schedule follow-up appointments for patients identified through screening.
- Use technology for timely follow-up
- Telehealth: Offer virtual follow-up appointments via video or phone call to increase convenience and reduce barriers for patients.
- Patient portal reminders: Use the patient portal to send automated reminders for upcoming appointments and anxiety-management resources.
