This is a statics problem. Look at the bottom where the blue star is drawn.

When the moment of F is taken, Bx, By, and only the vertical component (y) of force DG is considered. Why is the horizontal component (x) of force DG ignored?

In the first part of the solution, the moment of B only includes the vertical component of force AE because the horizontal component is in the same line as B, making that 0. But this isn't the same for force DG, so I don't get how its ignored.
