Title Page and Abstract for an Action Plan to address an issue on your campus *(elementary school campus)

Instructions:  You have explored top issues facing Texas Public Schools, Issues facing educators, and challenges in public education. 

1.  Think about your campus and identify one of the issues that you read about or one of the three that we have discussed in this class that impacts your campus.  For example, you may have teacher shortages on your campus, you may have funding issues, classroom overcrowding, safety issues, mental health, trust issues, or innovation challenges on your campus.  

2.  Consider yourself part of a campus improvement team that will develop an action plan to address the real challenge on your campus.  You must devise a written plan to present to your principal to mitigate this problem on your campus.  

3.   Using the action plan directions below, you and your team would theoretically write an action plan using SMART goals.  

4.  Write the action plan as described below as if you were going to deliver it to your principal.  Consider that money is not an issue. Use APA format for all writing. 

TASK: Write a 3-4 page action plan in APA format using the following guidance:

Page 0:  Title page as per APA

Page 1:  Describe your school.  It can be fictional or your own school.

Describe the issue that challenges your school. 

Page 2-4:  Action Plan to address your campus issue:  Goal 1 description using SMART goals.  Cite your supporting references.

Para 1.  Specific:  Identify 5 W questions.  What, Why, Who, Where, Which

Para 2.  Measurable:  Identify 3 Hows.  How much, How many, How will I know when it is accomplished.

Para 3.  Achievable:  Identify How can you accomplish your goal 

Para 4.  Relevant:  Why is this goal worthwhile?

Para 5.  Time-Bound:  What is a realistic timeline to accomplish this initiative? 

Conclusion:  Tell the audience what you told them. Answer the following questions:

How did this assignment help you prepare to be a professional educator?

Why did you choose this challenge in your school?

What is the anticipated outcome if you employ your initiatives?
