To complete this assignment, I am attaching a sample of how to create Thesis Statements. You will have to create two thesis statements for the poem "My Last Duchess". In order to create these thesis statements, you must understand what you are writing. You are writing an essay that proves that you KNOW the reason WHY Mr. Browning created "My Last Duchess." You may believe he created "My Last Duchess" to reveal the theme of traditional versus morals. You may think he created the theme to reveal the conflict of man versus self or man versus man.

Nonetheless, you MUST create two thesis statements that identify the reason why Robert Browning created, "My Last Duchess." A thesis statement should be no longer than one sentence long. It CANNOT include personal pronouns such as: I, me, my, we, us, our. It CANNOT include contractions such as: can't , didn't, don't, won't, etc.

The thesis statements must include the author's full name: Robert Browning and it must include the title of the poem, "My Last Duchess".

I am going to attach examples of Sample Thesis Statements to assist you, I am also going to attach a list of figurative language terms to assist you as you create your thesis statements. For example a figurative language term is SYMBOLISM. You may decide to write a thesis statement on the symbolism that was shown in "My Last Duchess, therefore, you want to really look at the terms to assist you.

This assignment can be difficult so please take the time out to say, "Why did Robert Browning write this poem?" In your thesis statement, DO NOT tell me what the story was about, I read it --- inform me on WHY she created it. Make sure that you read all the attachments that I attached.
