Today, there is so much power in the media and sadly, there is a bias and agendas. We as people are selfish and we have our agendas, that is just our nature. The media is a powerful platform and it does sway the public. An example is back home in Hawaii (I was born and raised in Hawaii). There is a minority view in Hawaii that Hawaii should go back to its old ways and become a sovereign nation again with a king. This is such a minority view in Hawaii, but it is believed to be a majority view all because this is what the media portrays. Another way that the media has swayed public opinion is that Hawaii is a true paradise with no problems. This is far from true. Recently, it was announced that if you are a family of 4 in Hawaii and make less than $100,000 a year, you are borderline poverty, homelessness is a huge problem in Hawaii, Honolulu has the top 3 worst traffics in America, etc. Hawaii is gorgeous, but it is not a paradise with no problems.

Another example of the media swaying public opinion is with President Trump. I personally support Trump and we are all entitled to our beliefs and political views, but I believe that the media is bashing Trump harshly. In my opinion, Trump has done a great job so far as President and so do a lot of people in America. However, mainstream media show that President Trump is the devil and that all of America hate him. That is so far from the truth! Many Americans love Trump!

Mainstream media has a lot of power and can truly sway the public's opinion. This is why we as people need to stop believing everything we hear and start thinking for ourselves. We need to start doing the research and ask the tough questions!
