Understanding what qualifies as a hazardous material and how to safely manage it is critical to maintaining a safe work environment. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) mandates that employers provide information, training, and protective measures to minimize employee exposure to hazardous substances.

Recognizing potential hazards is essential to prevent injuries, illnesses, and environmental damage.   • Complete ALL required sections that pertain to your chosen chemical.

• At the end of the template, provide a 1-2 paragraph summarizing why it is important to recognize hazardous material and have an SDS available for those materials. Provide at least 3 examples of hazardous materials in the workplace one might encounter.
